My name is Oya Bozkurt and I will be your child's first grade teacher. I am a passionate, dedicated and enthusiastic teacher. I have been teaching for over 20 years. I have taught all grade levels from KG thru Grade 8, but my favorite grades are the primary grades. I have worked in public schools and private schools but Islamic Schools are the best!
I am so excited to be part of the IANE family for a 2nd year. I love teaching and I also love learning something new each day from the children. It’s going to be a fun filled year, insha’Allah, with lots of learning taking place and exciting surprises.
On the first day of school the children will be getting a questionnaire; please make sure to send it back the next day so that I can know a little bit about who I’ll be teaching this year.
This year, the lower grade team of teachers have decided to purchase the school supplies collectively. Make sure to send in $20 with your child so that we can purchase the needed items; this amount is substantially less than what you would spend if you were to purchase your own as we teachers get volume discounts for quality school materials! J
